Steak and Chips

Feeling hungry? Nothing quite hits the spot like steak and chips. This meal features sirloin from Aldi, cooked in a frying pan (coated with Frylight) for just 3 minutes so it’s juicy enough to eat without a sauce. The mushrooms also serve to make things a bit more moist.


  • White potatoes, peeled and cut into chips
  • Frozen peas
  • Large mushrooms
  • Steak – we used Aldi sirloin which is quite cost-effective and comes in a pack of two
  • Frylight

Peel and cut your potatoes into chip shapes. Place in a pan full of water then bring to the boil for 5 minutes. Drain and shake the potatoes. Place on a Frylight covered baking sheet and put in the oven at 190 degrees C for 20-25 minutes or until golden. You can also cook in an air fryer.

10 minutes before the chips are ready place the mushrooms under the grill on a medium heat, turning occasionally.

Place the peas in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to the boil.

Coat a frying pan with Frylight and cook the steak to your liking.

Place all the ingredients together on your plate and tuck in.
